Promoting action to build resilient and sustainable island communities

GLISPA Council Members Meeting (Island Week)

Date: April 2019
Location: Mallorca, Spain
Host: Global Island Partnership
Strategic Priority: Building resilient and sustainable island communities through innovative partnerships

“The voyage to a resilient and sustainable future is not one that is taken alone, but by a movement of cities, states, islands and countries working together to shape the future we want.”
-- H.E. Tommy E. Remengesau Jr., President of Palau and Leader of the Global Island Partnership

The Global Island Partnership will convene the first meeting of its GLISPA Council Members Meeting in Mallorca, Spain. The GLISPA Council brings together the 35+ GLISPA Members to review progress on implementation of the 2030 GLISPA Strategy and determine an action plan to galvanize momentum to achieve priority issues such as island leadership on climate, oceans and urban growth. The GLISPA Board made a decision to move the GLISPA Council Members Meeting (Island Week) from September 2018 in Washington D.C. to April 2019 in Mallorca in the same week as the Smart Islands World Congress. The Coordination Team is working to confirm the exact date and location and will share more details in the coming weeks.  Please email This email address is being protected from spambots.
